My Family - My Love

Your question at this time is very intersting because it give me a chance to I tell you about my family. Especially, I express it in English, the way that have never done before.

When I was a child, I learn that the word of "family" was written from "father and mother I love you". At that time I knew the meaning of this word. I realized that family is very important.

My Mom and Dad brough me up with their vase love. They took care of me even I grew up, became adult. One of moral thing that they want me to obey is "Love people and to be honest". I think its is a standard moral that I have to keep because It help me become a good person in a good way. When I think of it, I cannot do anything that harm for people even the person that I do not like at all.

Now I live far away from my family but I have never stop thinking of them. My family give me strength in my mind by their encouragement, their love, and their hopefulness. My family is my love, an important part of my life.

My lonely time!!!

Have you ever spend all day alone in your house? What did you do at that time? Is it interesting for you? Like many people who was exhauted with working day, classes time, I would rather to spend my free time alone in my apartment. There are many things to do that time. I can make my free time alone be useful by many ways, such as cooking, cleaning my bathroom, reading, writing something, or just sleeping all day. Lonely time is good for me, I think.

Besides staying alone in my placce, I sometimes need the time to be alone by taking a walk (of course It cannot happen in winter :-)). Therefore, I can think about many things I intend to do in the future. At that time, I always turn my cell phone off (it is my secret!!!), so no one disturb me any way. Thus, I can enjoy the landscape, take some picture that I want. I also have day dreams. I had this habit since I have been in Carbondale.

The last way that I used to have to be alone is shopping alone. I feel free. I do not have to wait any one, come back home ontime. I used to go to wart-mart alone at night. I can stay there as long as I can without award the time to come back with my friends.

Do my dreams come true?

Do my dreams come true? That is the question that I always question myself numerous times, because I dream everyday. I used to have many sweet dreams and bad dreams also. My dreams express my wishes and my phobia. I do not want to make you feel sad or scare because of my dream stories, so I will tell you my sweet dreams.

First, depend on the day that come up to me good or bad, I have a sweet dream or a nightmare. Since I came to Carbondale, I have had many sweet dreams. My dream expresses my desire and my feelings. I always dream about the rivers, water and my family. These mean I want to see my parents, because I miss them so much. These dream made me be warm inside and peaceful. But when I wake up, I feel disappointed because I live here alone and feel so lonely. In Addition, The dreams about the water have a different meaning in Vietnam. When I was in Vietnam, I heard that when I have a water dream or I dream about the river, I will be lucky and get money such as win lottery or some one do not want to spend money and give it to me :-). It is not true because I have a lot of dream like these, but I have not won lottery or received any money from people. However, these dream made my day.

Second, I also have Lucid dream when I learn about this. Before going to bed, I always pray to my parents and my friends. I sometimes pray I can study more and more, so I can have Lucid dream. For example, when I have to learn by heart vocabulary, but i cannot study at night, I pray that I wish I could wake up early and then I can get up very early in the morning and study well. I was so happy to get Lucid dreams.

In conclusion, personally, I think dreams is untruthful, but I admit that dreams effect my real life. Good dreams make me happy and vice versa. Even though, I do know my dreams cannot come true, I still want to have sweet dream everyday. It make me be friendly, lovely (am I?) and have a good mind to the next day.

The day that we remember dead people in Vietnam

Vietnamese culture is different from the American European culture. There are seventy five percent of Buddhist and the rest is the other religion, so we do not have Halloween day in Vietnam. Because I am a catholic, I know there is a ceremony for the dead people on November second annually. It is the day after the saint's day. I can tell you about this.

When I was in Vietnam, I often went to the local cemetery to joy the mass on November 2. I always go with my parents and brothers, sister. We came there to commend ancestors' souls to God and pray for them. My father and my uncles often go to there several days to clean up the tombs and put many vases of flower. After we joy the mass, we stay there and pray for them. We come up every ancestors' tombs also. This day is one of the main mass we have to joy every year. After we come up to pray for our ancestors, we remember them and believe that they will give us peace and happiness.

HOW TO FIND LOVER?

Love is a forever topic that people aways want to talk about especially students. When i was in Vietnam, I used to be a student and a employee. So that I can share with you how people in my country get their love in their lives. There are many ways for people to be friends and then become couples such as through chatting in the internet, making friend at schools and taking outdoor activities.

First of all, The wonderful places that people can find their lovers are at their schools. Schools are the ideal places for them to share many activities. They have a good time together and and can share their feelings easily. Through the homework, the activities in class, they can know each other and get closer. They also know their hobbies, personalities, interests, even their backgrounds. It is good to choose their partners when they know clearly about it. Moreover, meeting each other every day make their relationship be stronger and closer :-). School is the best place to find girlfriend or boy friend in my country.

Second, younger people can find their partner in the other ways such as through the internet. They get to know each other by chatting or using some matchmaker websites. Some of them got successes through this way any way. But these ways probably are dangerous because of liars. People being online often tell lie because they are afraid of being a victim or they could be profeesional liars.

Next, I have some friends in my old company. Eventhough, they are single, they can get their love through out door activities. Some of them try to become volunteers or attending to outdoor activities to reduce their stressful after working hard and to have oppotunities to get friends. This could be a better ways to find good partners. Through the outdoor activities, they can get know each other easily and become couples after that. They could be suitable because they have the same hobbies, interests and the opinions about love. For example, one of my friend found her love when she was a volunteer in the Church. She came to church at weekend and stay there to join the club that had many kinds of helping poor people. Also there were some guys attend these activities, one of them was intersted in her because of her kindness. They became a couple after that.

In my opinion, the ways people in my country get their love is not different from others much. People can be couple when they realize that they are suitable. They need each other and love each other also. The improtant thing is how to keep their relationship for a long time, be happy with it and have a happy ending.

I tell myself: "Have fun and be ready for the next term!"

I am going to tell you what I did on the break days after I finished AE2 class. Honestly, those days were helpful. When I knew I can pass to EAP1, I was so glad!!! I came back home and enjoy that weekend by cooking and eating so much. I went to Walmart, bought a lot of food to celebrate by myself. After that I started having a plan to practice Toefl test (cause my Toefl score was very low. I feel scare when i think about it). At that time, I went to my listening and speaking class asusual and then went to library to study. Also, I had an appointment with Ms. Clara, the teacher who guided us practice Toefl test in AE2 and get some advices from her about choosing some Toefl books to practice. My break time was useful and I could warm up to be ready for the next class which could be very difficult for me!!!

The reason why I choose an American name!

Most students in Cesl call me Jeannie. It's my American name. Most of them don't know my real name. My nick name is "Vang" and my real name is "Trang". Atually, I always like my nick name (Vang). I always use it when i email my family.

In my family, every one calls me "be Vang". It means "a little piece of gold". I am a youngest sister. Although i am aldult, my family always call me that. I am happy about that. The reason which my parent gave that name to me is I am the little girl who my parents love most. Except that name, I wish my friend and people who know me call me "Trang" as people in Vietnamese call me that.

In fact, In the US, It's not easy to call and remember my name. That's the reason why I have an American name now.

During the summer term, I had some friends from Taiwan and China. When we talked each other, I told them my name is "Trang". Nobody asked me spell or write my name so that in their mind my name is "Jean" or "Jeng". I didn't know about that. Once my friend called me but the call was failed. He wanted to confirm my cell phone number so that he show the cell phone number and my name. It's "Jean". I got surprise but I didn't say any thing. In addition, when I came to the class, Eric, my class mate told me: "I always forget your name!". At that time, I decided to choose an American name in order to remember it easily. And I change "Jean" to "Jeannie" to make it lovelier.

What do you think about it? Actually I really really would like every one can call and remember my real name !!!!

I cannot forget the day I create this weblog

I ran to my class because i thought i would have a quiz at that time. Finally, I was surprise when Julie, my core teacher, talked about her weblog and then she guided us how to make a weblog by ourself. It is not difficult at all!!!!!!!!!!!!
